Could you and your team be more effective presenters…by getting over your presentation jitters?

The majority of sales reps occasionally need to stand up and present to one or more customers to explain what they offer and how their products or services function. Presenting in front of several people is, for most salespeople, the scariest part of their job. They’re not very good at it because they’ve not had enough practice or experience.

Having been a professional speaker and trainer for decades, I get asked “How do you become so comfortable being on stage? The reality is… it’s just experience. If you do anything a hundred times, you tend to not be too stressed when you giving your 101st presentation.

One of the best things you can do as the leader of your team is to make sure your reps first give any presentation to you and your managers.

I promise your reps will hate this role-playing exercise. They feel uncomfortable presenting to their boss. But only by doing this, frankly, in a more stressful environment than in front of a customer, will they be more comfortable, and most importantly, more persuasive in front of their customers.

What can you do to help your team get over their presentation jitters?

Today’s video talks about this challenge of reps being uncomfortable presenting to customers, and how practicing their presentations in front of managers can help them sell even more!
