Take any of your team’s written communications and mark it up to see how customer focused you really are. “X” out any words mentioning your name, company name, product names, or say “us,” “we,” or “ours.” Circle any words using your customer’s name, their products or you say “you” or “yours.”
You only have to look at your marked up page to see how customer-focused your document really is. The majority of sales documents and proposals I’ve evaluated are all “x” focused. Most just write about themselves, how great their company and products are and how satisfied their customers are.
